Here at FUSE Services, we really think this is a good idea and has been far too long in coming. You must regularly hear us registered electricians going on about the cowboys who are not registered and never get inspected, but they go around bodging up your electrical systems on the cheap!
It is annoying how the public refer us to the CORGI register for gas work and how knowledgeable they are at telling us that it is now called the GasSafe register, but there has been nothing for electricians and no advertising on our behalf whatsoever.
Now we have to put up with Coronation Street and its current story line which makes continued references to the GasSafe register and the actors keep telling the offender how bad he is for attempting repairs on a gas appliance as though he was a drink driver or a murderer, which he could well have been.
Is there any chance that the Electric safe register would ever make it in a similar storyline on say Eastenders for example…… I seriously doubt it, but I think we all need it and this storyline is driving electricians mental. It looks like the Part-P regulations are relaxing too now and actually allowing kitchen fitters to do more work – like they knew what Part-P was anyway. This is just a joke and a poke in the eye for us electricians who find most faults are in the kitchen caused by bodging kitchen fitters!!
After all, your kitchen / utility room is where all the high current using appliances are and the rest of your house takes only a small percentage in comparison. Do you really want an electrical fire?
Take care out there and always use an ElectricSafe registered company.
